  CAMBRIDGE COLLEGES HOSPITALITY SCHEME

Cambridge university, in conjunction with the Open Society Institute, invites applications from scholars from selected countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, including Ukraine, who wish to work in the universities' libraries or to contact academic specialists in their subjects. At Cambridge the programme offers one-month visits in one of the Cambridge colleges during the summer months (July-September). Scholars will normally be of post-doctoral or equivalent status and will be university teachers or members of research institutes.

All scholars receive free single accommodation and meals, plus small allowances for photocopying, books, and personal expenses. The cost of travel may also be met.

Applicants must have a good knowledge of spoken English. Priority will be given in Cambridge to those working on a specific project such as a book or a new course or series of lectures, and to those who have not previously had a chance to study outside of Central and Eastern Europe or countries of the former Soviet Union.
