Northern Michigan University (NMU), a four-year public university located in the town of Marquette, offers a range of scholarships for international undergraduates coming to study in the US. The International Academic Award is available to first-time undergraduate international students, and the Transfer International Academic Award is reserved for students who are transferring to NMU from an accredited US college. Both awards are valued at $1,100 per semester and require students to maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
In addition, international students can apply for funding through the NMU Foundation, which is a variety of awards supported by private donors. These scholarships vary between several hundred and several thousand dollars per student per semester. NMU Foundation scholarship applications for the 2012-2013 academic year will be available on the website during the winter semester.
