The Loyola Intensive English Program (LIEP), part of Loyola University New Orleans, is happy to announce that it is taking applications! You may have heard that it shut down after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but it reopened in 2009 and has since received students from over all over the world to study intermediate- and advanced-level English.
Classes at LIEP are small, and in addition to 20 hours per week of classroom study, students receive two hours a week of individual tutoring. It also offers a Pilot Program where students are conditionally admitted to Loyola University. Students in this program earn up to 6 hours of university elective credit from 2 LIEP classes and 6 hours from two other academic classes. The Pilot Program provides students with the language skills, the cultural knowledge, and the study skills necessary for success in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
