The Institute for Media Innovation at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for doctoral positions to work in Singapore, in the area of physics based simulation of clothes, virtual try on of clothes, interactive virtual worlds, interactive augmented reality, behavior models for virtual humans as well as social robots, simulation of medical articulations, group and crowds modeling, and related topics. We are pleased to announce that the 9th International Conference Crossroads in Cultural Studies will be held in Paris, France, from July 2nd to 6th, 2012, hosted by Sorbonne Nouvelle University and UNESCO.

The conference will also be hosted by UNESCO, the international organization that has always championed cultural diversity and difference. Given the long association between Cultural Studies research and UNESCO, this conference should be an occasion for Cultural Studies to look back on its own evolution as well as explore new scholarly insights. The PhD program in Urbanism of the Factulty of architecture in Venice (IUAV) will host the sixth International PhD Seminar - Urbanism and Urbanization in the autumn of 2011.The seminar invites PhD candidates working on a dissertation topic relating to the theory, history or practice of urbanism to present their work and thereby seeks to confront and discuss the themes and approaches of different international PhD programs in urbanism and the related disciplines. Following a biannual cycle, the VI International PhD seminar will follow the first International PhD seminar that was organized by KU Leuven in February 2004 and others by UPC Barcelona, IUAV Venice, TU Delft.

The ZESPRI Horticulture Scholarship Programme aims to encourage secondary school leavers to pursue a tertiary qualification and career in horticulture.
